Course Description
Meet your legal obligations with EFAST's qualified VDU assessment service. Irish law requires a display screen equipment risk assessment for every employee who uses a computer workstation for more than 1 continuous hour per day. A qualified VDU assessor must carry it out. EFAST's assessors visit your workplace, assess each user on-site, and deliver a written report within 5 working days. Assessments must be repeated every 2 years, or sooner if an employee changes workstation or raises a health concern. The assessment covers:
- Workstation Ergonomics - Chair height, screen position, keyboard placement, mouse position, and desk layout assessed against 2007 General Application Regulation standards
- Work Equipment - Screen quality, glare, lighting, and all hardware evaluated for compliance and injury risk
- Surrounding Environment - Temperature, humidity, noise, and space around the workstation reviewed against regulatory requirements
- Written Assessment Report - A detailed VDU assessment report per user delivered within 5 working days, suitable for your safety statement and HSA inspection
